This is one of the coolest things ever...
Last Saturday, we had just come through the border, back into Minnesota. We were listening to one of our favorite CDs; one we picked up in Winnipeg a couple of years ago. It's Aaron Burnett's "Call of the Wild," a CD really meant for kids, but very fun. The song, "I'm a Wolf Hear My Howl" was playing. We were "howling" along. All of a sudden, a wolf loped across the road about 40-50m in front of us. I've seen lots of coyotes, lots of deer, and even several bears, but I've never seen a wolf in the wild. I could see clearly that it was definitely a wolf. It was truly one of the coolest things ever.
I think we'll have to adopt the wolf as our family totem. Check this out: "Because wolf is a teacher and pathfinder, he comes when we need guidance in our lives. . . . Wolf teaches us to develop strength and confidence in our decisions." I thought that was oddly appropriate to having just landed.

What a cool story!
Crossing paths with that wolf was an awesome coincidence - and selecting the wolf as a totem is a fabulous idea. No doubt I'll be thinking of you guys on the next full moon. Here's to howling!
What a nice story. I just check our animals Totem. Tom is Hawk, falcon and Wolf and myself (Tom it's gonna laugh...) Elk and Beaver. Assertive enough...
We are skunk/dragonfly and crow. A wolf is a great family totem!
You saw a wolf??? That's amazing.
Park rangers in Denali (Alaska) told us they could be there for years and never spot one. We saw some wolf tracks and it gave me chills.
I'm big on wolves. :) I love all canines, and, like you, I've seen many coyotes. But a wolf... wow. That is a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
Yes, we were, well, amazed is an understatement. And to have been singing the wolf song... I like to think of it all as a really good omen!
