Baby Steps

Yippee, I found out where we can get our fingerprints done. So, while we're at the state capitol on Thursday for GLBT Lobby Day we'll zip over there and take care of that. Kind of a nice irony - go to the capitol to rally for GLBT rights and take one more step toward emigration. I've also go to figure out how to transfer funds to Germany so that I can request a police certificate from them. Come to think of it, perhaps I should call the bank this afternoon...

In other news, I've added some links to the right; check 'em out. And, if you know of other blogs from US expats in Canada, or wannabes, please let me know so that I can add them! It's been great exchanging notes with those I've "met" via the blogosphere.

Finally, if you haven't done so, check out National Day Against Homophobia. It's amazing, really. Thanks to Mason and Nikolas for the heads up on that one.

Outgames! What a great/novel idea. In case you have a broad sense of humour, I shared a very funny video ('hot dogs for homophobes')with my favourite gay blogger and he posted it on his blog here: http://reluctantnomad.blogspot.com/2006/04/hotdogs-for-homophobes.html
The humour is pretty sophomoric, but I laughed out loud.

Hi and thanks for the link. I'll check it out. Didn't even know there was a special day - for me it seems to be every day.

Best of luck and I'm glad to see you're making progress.

Oh my gosh!!! Andrea, that's hysterical. Thanks for sharing it.

Ann and "Masnick" - yup, tomorrow I think I'll be able to mail the form to Germany. Woo-hoo!

Thanks for your notes and... stay tuned!

Make sure you two take dry, absorbent towels with you to the fingerprint process. My partner had difficulty with "damp" fingers that "smudged" the print cards. Had to repeat the process two more times. Eventually he was cleared of all criminal activity and we are progressing towards Canada . . . . .

Cheers!
