About a year ago, I set the goal of celebrating Canada Day 2008 while living in Fredericton. And, here we are! Woo-hoo! I don't know that we'll make it until the fireworks - they aren't until around 10:40 tonight! - but we do plan on attending the parade. Fingers crossed that if it rains it's just a drizzle. It's a "green parade" in which the only gas powered vehicles that are permitted are hybrids. The theme for this year is "Fredericton - Green Matters - You Matter - Get Involved." What a perfect theme for our first year at Fredericton's Canada Day! The block party - claimed to be "Canada's largest block party" - includes games, rides, pony rides, parrots, laser tag, food, face painters, airbrush tattoos, etc. Hopefully 7YO will have fun and my knees will hold up! We have our Canada Day temporary tattoos and the flag on our car antenna. We're doing it up!
Happy Canada Day, everyone!
