It's Over
Yes, our alternative reality no longer exists. Sure, we have five - soon to be six - sets of each season on DVD, but President Bartlet is gone. President Santos was just a flash. If you don't know what I'm talking about, well, you missed one of the best television programs of all time. The West Wing. Last night was the series finale. Wow.

I'm not sure if they could have kept it up with a new cast and John Spencer gone but I wouldn't have minded seeing them try.
Don't think I missed an episode (even when I had to tape and watch later).
Yes, I agree - on both counts!
The "West Wing" series makes one wish the American public would have a lot more selectivity in choosing our leaders. If only the masses could support a candidate with the courage, intelligence and real compassion for their fellow human beings rather than people of the caliber of George W. Bush. Why can't we elect leaders with the stature of a Josiah Bartlet or a Matt Santos in real life?!?
Maybe we should draft Aaron Sorkin - the creator of the series - to coordinate a candidate and campaign we could all be proud of. Wouldn't that be a nice change from what we have now?
And what an office it is!!!
Well, I agree with all the previous comments. (How's that for original?)
I cried and cried during the last episode. That was my fantasy life: an intelligent, articulate, educated, deeply caring, truly moral U.S. President with a sense of leadership and an understanding of history.
I'm watching the series all over again from Season One, Episode One. God, I love C.J. And, really, all of them ...
